HELP US AVOID AN INCIDENT LIKE YOU SEE ABOVE
All vessels should be properly prepared for transport before driver arrives. It is the responsibility of the owner to insure that the boat is ready. Including, but not limited to; all doors, hatches, and windows are closed and properly secured. Decks should be clear of all items including fenders, anchors and dock lines. Any lose gear in the cockpit or cabin is secured and all
electronics are protected or removed. Cabinet doors, drawers and all lockers inside the craft should be secured shut. We cannot assume responsibility for any items not properly secured for transport.
To prevent water damage to cloth or canvas covers, top and side curtains should be removed prior to shipment. We do not assume responsibility for canvas cover tops, which remain topside during shipment.
Personal belongings and equipment must be itemized and verified by our driver prior to shipment. We cannot assume responsibility for missing items not fully accounted for in writing.
If you’re planning to ship your boat on a cradle, some extra precautions must be taken. Even though your cradle may serve adequately for storage it may fall short of what’s needed for shipping. A cradle should fit the exact contour of your hull and be in good condition if it is to be used for shipment. Your craft must also be well secured on the cradle. We cannot assume responsibility for any damage attributed to carrying devices, such as cradles or boat trailers, when they are furnished by or on behalf of the shipper.
For safety considerations, fuel and water should be no more than ¼ full.
Plastic or plexi-glass fly bridge windshields should be removed and stored inside the craft.
The transport of sailboats involves a few additional requirements. Standing rigging, turnbuckles, mastheads and bow lights, antennas, spreaders, wind indicators, wires and mast winches should be removed from the mast – after it is unstepped – and prior to shipment. We do not assume liability for damage attributable to rubbing or chafing by equipment left on the mast during shipment. Mast should be wrapped in a secure material and prepared for transport.
We cannot assume liability for boats that are wood, boats damaged by shrink-wrapping or random acts of nature.
Loading and unloading the boat is the responsibility of the owner of the boat. Owners must make their own arrangements and pay for these services.
We allow 2 hours for loading and 2 hours for offloading. Additional time will be charged at $100/hour.
We will gladly answer any questions you may have concerning the transportation of your boat. Our decades of experience will give you a safe delivery.
